Grant funding makes safety headgear even more affordable

Grants make safety gear affordable and save Canadian Athletes money

This document contains important time-sensitive information about funding for safety headgear and should be read by all Canadian clubs, associations and schools.

Clubs, associations and schools may apply May 1 through December 30 2016 for protective equipment grants to be used towards the purchase of protective headgear.

Grants will be awarded by the TransCanada Network on a first come, first served basis based on need and the club, association and school’s commitment to providing safety equipment to their athletes.

TransCanada hopes to award more than $500,000 in protective headgear grants this year. Forcefield FF (NA) Ltd. is the leading supplier of universal protective headgear for non-collision sports in the United States and Europe and has recently made their protective headgear available in Canada through TransCanada.  Now more affordably, Canadian clubs, associations and schools will be able to make safety certified protective headbands available to all members and students as part of their enrollment or for a fundraising fee. Equipment grants are valued from $100 up to $2000 per organization, and will cover 1/3 the cost of the gear or more.
